People seek psychological support for many different reasons. Some of the areas I commonly work with include:
-
Support with anxiety, worry, feeling overwhelmed, and patterns that can make everyday life feel harder to manage.
-
Support with low mood, loss of motivation, feeling stuck, and difficulties experiencing enjoyment or connection.
-
Support with ongoing stress and exhaustion, feeling stretched too thin, and burnout across work, family, caring roles, and everyday life.
-
Trauma-informed support for the impact of difficult past or ongoing experiences, including complex trauma and relational trauma, and experiences that may continue to affect how you feel, relate to others or move through everyday life.
-
Support for people experiencing or recovering from high control relationships, groups, or environments, including experiences of coercive control, confusion, self-doubt, or loss of autonomy. This may include high control groups, or cult-related experiences, as well as religious trauma and spiritual abuse.
-
Support with relationships, identity, and self-worth, including attachment and relationship patterns, understanding yourself, and exploring patterns that may shape how you relate to others.
-
Neuroaffirming support for ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent experiences, with a focus on understanding individual strengths, challenges, and needs. Support may include executive functioning, emotional regulation, relationships, study or work. demands, and everyday life.
-
Support for parents and caregivers with family relationships, attachment and connection, emotional regulation, and understanding what may be happening for your child or adolescent.
-
Support for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural, social, or life changes. For younger children (10 and under) support will often involve working alongside parents or caregivers.

Clients with an eligible referral may be able to access Medicare rebates for psychology appointments.

Your referring GP will determine the number of sessions included in your referral and whether further sessions are appropriate. The full appointment fee is payable on the day of your appointment, with the Medicare rebate processed following the appointment.
-
Psychology services may be available to NDIS participants where psychology is an appropriate support within their plan.
Kalaz Psychology currently works with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Fees are charged in line with the current NDIS pricing arrangements.
Self-managed participants will receive an invoice for payment. For plan-managed participants, invoices can be sent directly to the participant’s plan manager.

Some private health insurers provide rebates for psychology services, depending on your level of cover.
Please check directly with your insurer to confirm whether psychology is included in your policy and what rebates may apply.

I understand that sometimes plans change. if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give as much notice as possible.
If you are unwell and potentially contagious, please do not attend the clinic in person. If you feel well enough to attend your appointment, you can change your session to Telehealth instead.
Please get in touch as soon as possible if you need to cancel, reschedule, or change to Telehealth.
Your first appointment
Before your first appointment, you’ll receive an email with your appointment details and some forms to complete. These include information about consent and confidentiality, as well as the details I need to get you set up.
Your first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know each other and talk about what has brought you to therapy, what is important to you, and what you would like support with. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything worked out before you come to your appointment. We can work out where to start together.
Telehealth Appointments
Telehealth psychology appointments are available across Australia, offering a flexible way to access psychological support wherever you live. Telehealth can be particularly useful when your location, travel, work, family, or other commitments make in-person appointments more difficult.
You can choose Telehealth even if you live locally, and appointments can be held this way whenever it works better for you. Before your appointment, you will receive a secure link to join your session online.
If you have any questions about appointments, fees, Telehealth, please get in touch.
